Important Camp Notes and Instructions:
We look forward to a weekend of fun and fellowship with our new cadets! Each year we feel blessed to be given the opportunity to serve God through this camp.
A few details about God’s Army Camp:
Camp starts at 8:00 am sharp on Friday! It is very important that your child arrives on time as we have a strict, yet fun, schedule to keep. After all, this is army camp!
If your child is a new camper this year please talk with them about the style of this camp. We do pretend it is the army. We have a really fun time with this style and the kids (typically) REALLY enjoy the style of this camp. They should expect to do bible classes, outdoor physical activities, morning exercises, and arts/crafts. Each camper is required to do all of the scheduled activities. A positive attitude will really make camp a great time!
Please send your children with a sleeping bag and pillow. They will need several outfits including a pair of sandals AND sneakers with several pairs of socks. The kids will do morning PT and will need adequate footwear. If your child cannot tie their own shoes please send them with slip on/Velcro sneakers. Most kids like to wear camouflage to go along with the theme of the camp but it is not necessary. Please feel free to put your child’s name on their belongings as we have found that they often forget what belongs to them. If your children want fresh breath a toothbrush and toothpaste should also be packed in their bags!
There will be swimming. Please send a bathing suit and a towel (unless your child prefers to drip dry). If your child is not a SOLID swimmer we will require a life jacket to be worn. If they have one they prefer please send it with your child with their name on it.
If your child takes any sort of medication please give it to check-in when you arrive with instructions. There will be one person in charge of administering all medications throughout camp. Their contact information will be given at registration if needed.
Your children will spend the ENTIRE weekend outdoors. When you pick them up they will likely be exhausted and the clothing you sent them will likely be filthy. We hope they will have thoroughly enjoyed their time with us! Please arrive on Sunday for pickup on time. There will be a presentation that will start at 12:00pm. We will start on time as this is army camp and we keep a tight schedule. Your children will be pleased to see your smiling faces.
